Oakwood Falls Church was our first experience with housing in State. Our apartment was recently renovated and had good TV service (HD!).  We did have a car which made it a lot easier to get things done, wouldn't really recommend this location if you don't have children or a vehicle. While it's not too far from the metro station, you always feel far from everything else in DC.
